Flightpaths

A Level of Learning to Suit the Individual

On joining STEPScic the attendee will be allocated a flightpath. The flightpath has been designed to allow the individual to go on a journey of achievement with the destination being their primary goal or aspiration. This primary goal could be employment, independent living or personal development. The journey along the flightpath is a learning centred approach based on the development of practical skills with progress being assessed, recorded and reported on an ongoing basis to ensure that the attendee achieves their potential. Learning can take place through accredited learning, non-accredited learning, work experience placements and activity workshops. The flightpaths will be individually tailored to meet the individual’s needs and will initially be informed by information given to STEPScic through the attendee’s care plan as well as consultation with the attendee and their parents/carers. The flightpaths are a flexible journey and can change direction if the attendee’s goals and aspirations change. There is no time limit on goal/aspiration achievement.
